It's the grimmest rumour yet about the late King of Pop.
A photo of Michael Jackson's body has apparently been offered to TV executives...
And the gory snap is said to show the singer undergoing an autopsy examination.
It's understood the morbid image features Michael lying on a metal table with the front part of his skull shaved.
LA chief coroner Ed Winter said he was aware of the rumours that an autopsy photograph may have been leaked.
But he revealed that he doubted there were pictures "floating around" because aside from the official report they were under "lock and key".
He said that if the rumours turned out to be true there would be an "internal investigation" and possible police enquiry.
Meanwhile, Michael's movie This Is It earned over £12 million on its first day at cinemas worldwide.
The two-hour documentary shows the pop singer rehearsing for his London concerts just days before his sudden death in June this year.
A spokesman for Columbia Pictures said: "This is an amazing beginning for the film and a reaffirmation of the global appeal of Michael Jackson."
