Michael Jackson Michael Jackson Michael Jackson's death has reportedly been ruled a homicide.

This follows news that an apparently lethal level of the anaesthetic drug, Propofol, was found in his body.

According to The Associated Press, this could now leave the case open for criminal charges.

They report that an official spoke under anonymity and said that the Los Angeles County Coroner had found the singer died after being given a lethal combination of drugs.

Despite the above, the LA County Coroner has refused to confirm or deny the above report.

A coroner's department official, Captain John Kades, said: "We have not released any information on the Jackson case. We do not know where this information is coming from."

According to the Daily Mirror, in the US there are various degrees of murder and manslaughter which all fall under the term 'homicide'.

The Associated Press has said that the coroner's alleged homicide ruling has come about after court documents confirmed that authorities believe a high dosage of Propofol may have led to Michael's death.

The Daily Mirror reports Michael's family have released a statement saying: "The family looks forward to the day that justice can be served."

The statement continues that they have "full confidence in the legal process, and commend the ongoing efforts of the coroner, attorney and police."
