Nancy Dell'Olio 06.07Nancy Dell'OlioHere in the Shed we love a bit of feminine self-confidence.

And we have to say, Nancy Dell'Olio has it by the boat-load.

In fact, if Nancy had an alter ego, it'd have to be SATC's Samantha Jones - times about 100.

But the beautiful thing is, the former Wag acknowledges her top-notch showbiz status so modestly, so humbly - like a blushing but benevolent bride.

Take a recent interview with The Guardian, where Nancy delicately addresses the issue of the great shockwaves she's caused in the celebrity world.

"The media phenomenon that I became is incredible," she's admitted. "I tried to have a distance from this and have a laugh."

She added casually: "I think I am quite famous, I don't think many people are well known in different countries."

When asked to reflect on her persona, the Italian beauty said: "I am fiery but in my way; in a sophisticated way."

Well, naturally - we wouldn't expect anything less, Nancy.

The only point where the interview hit a slight rocky patch was when the potentially explosive issue of ageing came up.

But ever the trouper, 45-year-old Nancy negotiated her way through it smoothly, saying:

"It's ridiculous talking about age. It's a very strange concept. I am more attractive now than I was when I was 30."

You gotta love her, eh? No one else on the planet (expect possibly Simon Cowell) could execute such astonishing levels of breezy self-belief.
