Rumour had it she'd been in a mahoosive spate with lover Joel Madden.

So what's really going on between the starry pair?

Well, we're pleased to announce the break-up rumblings are codswallop.

We were sceptical from the outset...

And now that we've spied Nicole and Joel strolling through a mall together in Los Angeles with their daughter, Harlow Winter, our suspicions have been confirmed.

True, they don't look thrilled to be in one another's company...

But clearly Nic hasn't jumped ship to her mum's house, as whisperings would have had us believe.

So were the rumours of a lovers' tiff blown out of proportion? Or total make-believe from the get-go?

We'll probably never know - but suffice to say Nic 'n' Joel are still together for now.
