Nicole Kidman has a heart of gold.
The actress has given a generous goodwill gesture by digging deep into her pockets.
Nic and her husband Keith Urban have donated a massive $500,000 AUD (£230,000) to the victims of the devastating Australian fires that have killed 181 people.
Australian television network Nine said that Nic and Keith had led the way for other Australian film stars and sports legends who have now banded together to help raise funds through a telethon which has generated millions of dollars for the fire relief effort.
"Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban led the way, personally donating $500,000 to The Red Cross via the 'Australia Unites' telethon," Nine said on their website.
"The Aussie supercouple were
joined by other Hollywood stars like Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman, Naomi Watts, Rachel Griffiths and Simon Baker who sent recorded messages of support from the US."
Without A Trace actor Anthony LaPaglia donated $50,000 and Canadian singer Michael Buble also pledged $50,000.
The horrific fires in Australia have left more than 5000 people homeless, and have caused devastation to towns in Southeastern Victoria this week.
According to The Red Cross, up to £30m has also been raised by the public.
Let's hope some more Hollywood actors follow suit to help raise more precious funds.
