Word on the street has it she and Benji Madden have given their relationship the ol' heave-ho.

A source close to Paris said the couple, who have dated for more than nine months, went their separate ways a few days ago.

"She is saddened by the break-up but they're just too different and they wanted different things in life," the insider told People.

"He was loyal and sweet but it was time to take a break."

For the moment, the split talk remains speculative, since neither Paris nor Benji's reps have commented on the rumours.

However, Paris did get tongues wagging earlier this month when she was spotted chatting to her ex-boyf Stavros Niarchos in a nightclub in Miami.

Could it be over for this relatively long-lasting Hollywood union, or is this all a storm in a teacup?

Time will tell -  and we'll be keeping our beady eye on Paris' moves from now on, that's for sure.
