The heiress has been accused of not doing enough to promote the 2006 box office flop, Pledge This, by the film's investors.
Paris turned up at the first day of her trial in Miami looking flawless in a sombre - but gorgeous - monochrome dress and killer Louboutin stilettos.
It must have gone well because the socialite was beaming as she left the court with her lawyer and entourage.
The investors behind the movie are apparently seeking more than $8m (approx £5m) from Paris and her entertainment firm, saying Paris failed to honour her contract by not doing enough promotional work for the DVD release of the film.
