Patrick Swayze has checked himself into hospital.
The actor, who revealed last year he has pancreatic cancer, has come down with pneumonia.
The news was announced at a press event for the Television Critics Association in Los Angeles.
Reports say Patrick was due to appear to promote his new TV series titled The Beast.
A&E president, Abbe Raven, is quoted as saying: "As we arrived here this morning we have some news.
"Patrick Swayze has checked himself into the hospital for observation. However, he asked us specifically to go forward with today's panel. We wish him the very best with his recovery."
Patrick's spokesperson, Annett Wolf, confirmed the star is in hospital, but did not give further details.
Just days ago Patrick gave an emotional interview to Barbara Walters during which he said he was "scared and angry", but still determined to beat the disease.
He told Barbara: "You can bet that I'm going through hell. I'm at the beginning of my battle.
"And I expect it to be a long hard battle, one that I'm gonna win according to certain rules, and the rules that the cancer isn't going away."
He also went on to say: "Am I dying? Am I giving up? Am I on my deathbed? Am I saying goodbye to people? No way."
