Peter AndrePeter Andre outside courtPeter Andre has been awarded a payout over allegations he lied in portraying himself as a loving father.

The 36-year-old accepted "substantial" damages in London's High Court today.

He was present for a brief hearing before Mr Justice Eady, during which his solicitor Gordon Williams told the judge that the action related to an article published in a July edition of celebrity gossip magazine Now.

The lawyer said the editorial in question claimed that Peter may have been at fault for two accidents suffered by Harvey, the disabled son of his ex-wife Katie Price.

"Separately, Mr Andre was also said to have demanded sick sexual threesomes from his wife, which horrified her and which she did not enjoy, feeling used and like a sex doll," Mr Williams told the court.

"As a result, Mr Andre was said to be lying in portraying himself as a loving father and husband."

Appearing outside court, Pete said he was "pleased" that Now had accepted that the story was untrue.

"I take my responsibilities very seriously. I would never do anything to hurt my children, whom I love very much," he said.

The amount of damages involved was not disclosed.
