Petra Nemcova Well, it was always going to be awkward scenario for Sean Penn at the Cannes Film Festival...

What with his newly reconciled wife Robin hanging out in proximity to his recent flame Petra Nemcova.

Though he probably never banked on the two coming face-to-face.

Petra, on the other hand, had different ideas, apparently.

If those on the Cannes inside line are to be believed, Petra rocked up for a chat with Robin at a glizty film bash.

For those not up to date with their goss, this is Petra, the lady Sean dated while on a temporary break from Robin.

Petra was spotted out and about with Sean as late as March this year, but Sean is now firmly back in the arms of Robin, his wife of 11 years.Petra Nemcova and Sean Penn in February 2008

We can only imagine what Petra and Robin found to talk about, but on spotting the two having a tete-a-tete, Sean (who was at the party as well), reportedly got his La Perlas in a right twist.

According to witnesses, he hot-footed across the room, from where he was chatting to Penelope Cruz, and got between his two ladies sharpish.

The Metro's gossip columnist Andrei Harmsworth says Sean then guided Robin away from Petra, saying: "Come and meet my friend (Penelope)."

Awkward, non?

Let's hope that spells the end to any further dalliances between the two women.
