We can barely control the tide of emotion that this news brings.
Phew. Deep breaths. OK...
George Clooney may be returning to ER.
The thunderbolt hunk, who cemented his status as a global hotty in the role of Dr Doug Ross for the series, could be making a one-time comeback for the show's finale.
Back in September, George's rep denied rumours that he'll reprise his part in the programme, but now a flurry of publications have suggested that he will indeed be scrubbing-in for the last episode, which is being filmed as we speak.
Speaking to Us magazine, ER producer John Wells dropped a possible hint to a Clooney comeback, saying:
"We're going to have a lot of people coming back to ER at the conclusion of the series.
"George is very busy. He's very handsome. We've talked about it a couple of times. You know, it's George."
We have no idea whether George will actually end up appearing in the ER finale, to be aired at the beginning of April, but we're crossing every finger and toe going that will be the case.
The idea of seeing him in his scrubs again is enough to send the entire Showbiz Shed into a permanent, drooling swoon...
