Rihanna has broken her silence over the Chris Brown assault.
The star opened up about the incident in February, which left her bruised and bloodied, in an interview with US TV presenter Diane Sawyer.
"This happened to me... It can happen to anyone," she told the veteran presenter on Good Morning America, in an episode to air this Thursday.
She added that the attack at the hands of her ex-boyfriend was particularly hard to come to terms with, because "he was definitely my first big love".
20-year-old Chris was sentenced to 180 days' community labour and is on probation for five years for the assault, which occured following a pre-Grammys party.
He was also banned from going within 100 yards of Rihanna in a court ruling in August.
The singer has spoken extensively since the incident, saying: "I'm sorry for what I did, whatever it is", and claims he still loves and cares for his former girlfriend.
