But it seems the Robster's not going it alone...

He may be returning with his current girlfriend, actress Ayda Field, in tow.

The singer's sis, Sally Symonds, has dished the dirt on Rob's plans, telling Hello! magazine that he's been pining for home.

"Robert has missed Britain. He wanted to come back for the past 12 to 18 months," she said. "He loves the British culture and the British people and he wants to spend more time here. 

"He has enjoyed living in LA – he can move around freely and the sun always shines. But it's a pretty soulless place.

"I think Ayda will come with him. He brought her home to Stoke a few months ago and she seemed a very kind, pleasant, down to earth girl. They seem to interact well."

So does this mean that Rob's got marriage on the mind?

"I'm glad he has someone – we all need a partner, and if you can find a good one, that's great," Sally said.

"They're very settled but I don't think they have any plans to get married at the moment."
