We're talking Roxanne Pallett and Charlie Clements, of course.

But darn her, Emmerdale's Roxy has gone and poured cold water on our romance heat.

Yup, hot on the heels of us reporting that Rox 'n' Charlie (of 'Enders fame) had enjoyed a smokin' theatre date in London together with their respective mums...

Turns out they are indeed "just good friends" - or that's what Rox would have us believe.

"He's a really, really good friend and an absolute gentleman," Roxanne said of Charlie in an interview with Hello! magazine.

"I'm lucky to have him as a friend. We are definitely not dating though. There is no romance in my life at the moment. I'm single."

Does the lady protest too much, we wonder?

Well perhaps not, since she then goes on to natter about how hard it is to date when you're famous.

"It's hard to know whether someone wants to go out with me or 'Jo from Emmerdale'," she said.

"I've had all sorts of people suddenly wanting to be my friend who didn't want to know me before I was in the show.

"But I'm single for the first time in years and I'm really loving it."
