So how about Russell Brand as Jack Sparrow's brother?
Oh, how we hope this rumour is true.
Sources have told The Sun that renegade Russ is currently negotiating a deal that could be worth up to £5 million to star in the next Pirates Of The Caribbean film as Johnny Depp's sibling.
"There couldn't be a role more perfectly suited," said the source. "There's a lot of Jack Sparrow in his mannerisms and behaviour. Depp's accent isn't a million miles away from Russell's either."
The role could not have come at a better time for Russ, after his resignation from Radio 2 over the controversial "Sachsgate" scandal.
Starring alongside the divine Johnny could also possibly launch Russ into Hollywood A-lister territory, having made a wee splash in the US last year with Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
"Russell joining the Sparrows alongside Johnny, and Keith Richards as their dad, will complete the ultimate on-screen pirate family," said the source.
