Russell Brand Russell Brand Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross have spoken out about the Andrew Sachs drama.

Russ says he won't change his style, while Wossy has been making light of the situ.

Well, it's one way to clear the smoke of controversy...

This weekend saw both BBC stars voice their opinions on the Radio 2 furore, which saw Wossy suspended for three months and Russell resign from his presenting spot on the station.

For those of you who need reminding, the twosome caused outrage by leaving lewd messages on actor Andrew Sachs' voicemail, making references to Russell having slept with Andrew's granddaughter, Georgina Baillie.

Once reported, the extracts prompted over 30,000 complaints from the public, but Russell is now adamant that he won't let the extreme reaction "change what I do".

Speaking to the Observer magazine, Russell said:

"If you're asking me to inhibit what is spontaneous and good about my performance, then I can't do that.

"I don't think anyone who loves what I do, who will have listened to the actual thing and not complained... I don't think they'll be affected by it.Jonathan Ross Jonathan Ross

"And then people who don't like me will just think, 'Well, this is what we expected,'" he continued.

"So despite how huge it is, (the fuss) is essentially meaningless."

Russell's comments come on the back of Rossy's first public appearance since the scandal, on a charity celebrity edition of The Apprentice - a programme he is able to take part in despite his suspension because it won't be screened until next March.

In the clip, Wossy jokes that he could end up on a shopping channel because of the controversy, also quipping:

"I've managed to escape from witness protection today."
