And it makes it all the funnier when the blunder is on live telly.
Somebody made a bit of a silly sausage out of themselves when interviewing Salma.
Eamonn Holmes was chatting to Salma for This Morning when he decided to question her on her surname.
Eamonn said: "Hayek doesn't sound very Mexican."
So Salma explained: "I'm half Lebanese."
But good old Eamonn mustn't have cleaned out his ears as he responded: "So you're a lesbian?"
Giving everyone a good giggle, Salma tried to explain again - slowly: "I am Lebanese."
