Sarah Harding Sarah Harding's dad has revealed the singer has not spoken to him for eight years.

John Hardman has spoken for the first time about how he is desperate to patch things up with the Girls Aloud star.

John, 54, told the Daily Mail: "Some people seem to think that the only reason I have tried to make contact is because she's famous.

"I don't want her money. I want nothing but a connection with my daughter."

The former musician, who has a one-year-old son Sarah has never met, reveals: "I've tried so many times to make contact - even before she became famous.

"I've written, emailed, telephoned, asked others to intercede on my behalf and still she refuses to see me. I once turned up at her London home, only to be turned away by her boyfriend and management people."

Sarah, 27, rarely speaks about her dad in interviews but has said in the past she inherited "musical genes" from John.

The singer was born with the surname Hardman but changed to Harding when she stopped speaking to her dad following her parents' split.

John added: "All I want is for one meeting with my daughter. If she then decides that she wants nothing more to do with me, then I'll walk away and leave her, however hard it would be.

"At the end of the day I'm her dad and I love my daughter. I feel excluded from her life, I just want to see her and have a reasonable relationship."
