It ain't just any old paperback though - it cost a mahoosive £750.

David splashed out on a limited-edition signed Valentino fashion tome.

It's one of just 2,000 copies of Valentino Garavani: First Name In Fashion.

The book features pictures from the career of one of Posh's favourite designers and commentary from leading fashion writers.

Victoria BeckhamA source told The Sun: "Most people might get a puzzle or gardening book in their stocking - but Posh gets this."

But has David made the right choice in gift?

Back in 2005 Posh famously admitted she'd never read a book.

Let's just hope he kept the receipt.
