And we got a first-hand view of it all.

The dame doing the chest check was violinist Linzi Stoppard, who was just one of the stars braving the chill to step out in London's Leicester Square.

The man of the moment, aka Jason Statham, arrived fashionably near-last, and what everyone wanted to know was, OK, he's an action guy, but any chance of his doing a romcom any time soon?

Jason said: "I suppose so. We're just waiting for a decent enough script to do. I'm not just going to do a romantic comedy for the sake of doing it."

He chuckled: "There's a big, long list."

Seems Jason's got ants in his action pants, as he's already started work on a new adrenalin-filled project, Transporter 3.

He said: "Today was the first day of work over in Paris. Tomorrow I've got a big fight scene, and I'm really looking forward to it."
