But Britney Spears being star-struck by him?

Hmm, we don't think so.

It seems Simon holds himself in such high regard, that he told Ryan Seacrest in an on-air interview for his radio show KIIS-FM, that Brit was in awe of him when she appeared on The X Factor.

"This may be a little egotistical, I think she was in awe of me," he said. "She was just staring at me. I said,'Touch me, I'm human,' and I think that broke the ice."

We've actually been hearing a little bit of a different story about the night the two met.

Apparently Si was made to wait outside Brit's dressing room for a photo-op with fellow judges Louis, Dannii, and Cheryl.

"He looked like a little bit of a lemon after being forced to wait for her," a source told the Daily Mirror. "It was his show but Britney didn't care."

In any case, it seems that Simon was ecstatic about Britney's performance, even though many were underwhelmed.  

"There was more buzz, more excitement, for this girl than anyone else. It was as if the president was on the show. I love it. I think if you're going to be a star, be a star," he told Ryan Seacrest.

When asked how Si would judge Brit's performance out of ten, he continued his praise for the singer.

"9.5," he said. "She was terrific. Very professional. This girl's got huge star quality...You've got to hand it to her. She's a great performer."

"I would literally have her on my show every week for the next 10 years."

Wow, with all that gushing Simon sounds a little like a crazed fan.
