He's young, talented and has a host of famous names wearing his designs.
Erdem Moralioglu, known only by his first name, is a mere baby at just 30-years-old and yet he has already made a big impact on the fashion world. with an equally big celebrity following.
Fashion's new favourite designer is known for his use of vibrant colour and his frocks have cropped up on many red carpets, modelled by the likes of Keira Knightley, Thandie Newton, Kirsten Dunst and Chloë Sevigny.
But it's not just the young and trendy that are keen his designs, he is also a big hit with the slightly older and more conservative woman.
He explains that the Erdem woman is "quite seasonless, in a way. She's a woman who does what she wants and is strong."
Both Sarah Brown, the prime minister's wife, and Samantha Cameron are fans and have worn his designs.
So impressed is Mrs Cameron that she has joined forces with Erdem to create a selection of notebooks and diaries for stationery brand Smythson, where she works as creative director.
Averyl Oates, buying director at Harvey Nichols said: "The recent appearances of Samantha Cameron and Sarah Brown wearing Erdem have been an appropriate, and refreshing, nod to the fabulous British fashion of today."
And what of his inspirations?
Perhaps the most important one is his late mother: "It's going to sound so Oedipal, but my mum was so well-dressed and lovely, she was quite important," he explained.
Brought up in Canada, Erdem is the son of an English mother and a Turkish father.
He said: "I had this romantic vision of what Britain was. I loved costumes and museums, and when we visited, we went to places like Madame Tussauds and Warwick Castle."
Erdem studied fashion design at a small Canadian university before moving to London in 2000. He did a brief internship at Vivienne Westwood, then secured a British Council scholarship to do an MA at the Royal College of Art. He graduated from there in 2003, and worked for Diane von Furstenberg in New York, before showing his first collection under his own name in 2005.
Depth of colour has been key to his style: "I take recognisable things, like a bouquet of flowers, and smudge and distort them on my Mac. I want to recreate the idea of movement and memory you have on a train."
His other influences are quite diverse. He revealed: "My top three fashion influences are Yves Saint Laurent, for his sensitivity, use of colour and devotion to making women elegant; Mainbocher, who designed some of Wallis Simpson's clothes, and did great embellished dresses; and Charles James because of the way he cut."
We look forward to seeing many more exciting collections from this gifted designer.
