Hallelujah, praise be and glory on high to all things gateaux: Curves are back.
What with the fabulous Heidi Klum, Rankin muse and supermodel extraordinaire, baring (almost) all for the Victoria's Secret fashion show a month after giving birth to her fourth child, Lily Cole going topless for Pirelli, and even waif-like Anna Friel channeling Marilyn Monroe in a stunning structured gown to turn on the Christmas lights in New Bond Street – cake is most definitely back on the menu.
Yesterday was the 37th edition of the legendary Pirelli calendar and photographer Terry Richardson shot such luminaries as Miranda Kerr, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Marloes Horst. Sky Showbiz were at the exclusive after party last night with wall to wall beautiful people at London’s Old Billingsgate. Queen of curves herself, the iconic Sophia Loren made an appearance and wowed guests, looking just as fabulous in the flesh as she did on screen 30 years ago. Lily Cole kept it low-key after baring all in the morning, while the fabulous Claudia Winkleman worked the room with her trademark wit and chatted to Daisy Lowe in a floor length black dress (The new LBD, see? You heard it here first).
Elsewhere in Sky Showbiz, we’ve rounded up the Week’s Best Dressed (props to Fergie), and of course The Week’s Worst Dressed (Leighton Meester, how could you?) as well as your pre-weekend treat – Hot Man Friday.
Here’s hoping your weekend is sequin studded and suitably indulgent,
Helen
