So, two lads both named David made the American Idol final.

And the winner of the seventh series of American Idol is...

Rocker David Cook.

On winning he told the crowd: "I’m absolutely at a loss for words."

And as much as we hate to say it, Simon Cowell was right. Just last week he predicted rocker David may take the title.

David Cook Simon said: "He’s done more to deserve it over the 11 weeks.

"He’s taken more risks, he’s done things with certain songs that have been more interesting."

The jam-packed two-hour finale included performances from other big names such as Carrie Underwood, George Michael and the Jonas Brothers.
