Britney Spears isn't the only person who's caused an X Factor stir.
An eighth hopeful has been sent packing.
But who's sang their last note on the show?
Sultry Spanish songbird Ruth Lorenzo is the latest contestant to be sent home from the show.
She received the least amount of public votes in this week's show, which saw the contestants battling it out for a spot in next week's semi-final.
Ruth said: "I fought with all my heart, with everything I had. And this doesn't end here. This is the beginning of my dream.
"All I can say is thank you so much. I never ever dreamed of this, ever."
She's the last of the over 25s from mentor Dannii Minogue's group to go. Ruth was in the bottom two alongside Eoghan Quigg.
This week saw the contestants belting out Britney numbers and then an American classic. Ruth performed 'I Love Rock and Roll' and then Bon Jovi's Always.
A tearful Dannii said after the show: "She was the most beautiful person to work with. She's going to be a friend forever."
Apart from Britney performing her new single, Womanizer, on the show, American teen sensation Miley Cyrus also strutted her stuff on stage.
Next week the remaining four compete in the semi-final, but who'll be catching the judges' eye?
If their comments from this week are anything to go by, it may be Alexandra Burke, who got rave reviews from everyone, with Simon saying: "You make me very proud to be British."
